Mines, Ore, and Etherium Generators!
In this Dev Log we go through the new Ore Node models, the show the mine model as well as a mostly functional Mine.
While it may not look like we did a lot. The models for both the new ore nodes and the Mine itself are quite different from what we had before. Each took quite a bit of time to model and then bake the textures in order to have smaller assets.
I really thought having our own ore nodes versus ones I had bough of the marketplace was worth doing. First you can see how we incorporated those models of the ore nodes into the mines. This was a major driver (besides wanting things to be stuff I made) to making them. It will feel like everything is more interconnected if we can share assets that we made through different models.
The only asset from the marketplace at this point is the main character. I don't see that changing for a while if ever.
