My name is Scott Hudson, at the time of writing this I am 49 years old. I have always been in to software ever since I was a little kid on my Apple IIe (thanks Dad!). This was when you bought a book with code in it and typed out all the code if you wanted a game to play.
I have dabbled in Visual Basic .Net for many years writing heat transfer code for the boiler industry. This was long in math and not much on design. Additionally I have been writing a lot of suedo code for decades now with different software packages, generally in the sales and customer service side of things. I have a degree in Chemical Engineering and MBA.
But that is not the most important stuff. I have a great family with a wonderful wife and three awesome kids, Hunter, Harrison, and Hollynn. They have always kept me busy. They continue to do so. I had seen many videos on Youtube about Unreal Engine 5 and decided hey all the coding I have ever done in my life has been through watching Youtube videos so...
I decide hey let's give this a go. I am about 3 months into learning UE 5. I still have so much to learn. I will never be able to do what some can with this great software engine but I am endeavoring to make a game that is worth playing in the next 12-18 months. Of course I am only one person and I only have weekends and after work to do this.
This means I will be buying assets from the UE market place. I just don't have the time to do it all. But the game core mechanics will be what I spend my time on.
Read the next post if you want to know more about Kastle Kraft. I hope you will join me on this journey and if you have any feed back along the way man that would be cool!
